Small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS)

sUAS stands for Small Unmanned Aircraft System. It's a system that includes an unmanned aircraft and the equipment needed to operate it safely and efficiently. A sUAS typically includes a fixed or rotary-wing aircraft and a Ground Control Station (GCS).

sUAS are known for being versatile, compact, and affordable. They are a subset of UAS, or Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and are usually less than 55 pounds (25 kilograms) in weight.

sUAS are used for a variety of purposes, including:

Search and rescue

The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) uses sUAS for search and rescue, disaster relief, and other emergency services.

Security

The Teal 2 sUAS can travel up to 5 kilometers from its operator, allowing security forces to observe terrain beyond visual line of sight.
